I am Shirelle Flamer Ripetta, and I am delighted to be the President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter. My mother, Margaret Chase Flamer, is one of the distinguished charter members of this chapter. As I have grown up with Omicron Gamma Omega and can honestly call the chapter home, I am humbly privileged and honored to hold such a position. For over three decades, Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter has provided community service to well deserving individuals and families within the Glen Burinie community and surrounding areas. Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter takes pride in implementing the International Programs of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®.
In addition to the five targets under our International President’s signature “Launching New Dimensions of Service” Programs, Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter has three signature programs where we provide scholarships to high school seniors, conduct our annual Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Tour and host our annual Black Family Cookout. Under our signature scholarship program, I am proud to say that we have provided over one hundred thousand dollars in scholarships to well-deserving high school seniors. We are a small but mighty chapter of approximately 50 dedicated African American women who work hard in the name of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® and Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter.
Our chapter members exemplify sisterhood and service, the guiding principles of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®. I am truly blessed to be with a group of ladies who follow the Alpha Kappa Alpha credo of “To be supreme in service to all mankind”.
